EFGSL 2016 Scholarship Winners

East Fishkill Girls Softball would like to congratulate this year’s winners of the Softball Scholarship award, Shannon Rattigan, Megan Flynn and Melissa Diakantonsis.  All 3 wrote compelling essays on what being part of EFGSL has meant to them and their growth as a person.  Each winner will receive a $300 scholarship to be used for their up-coming year in college.  We congratulate them and wish them the best in the future and will miss seeing them on the playing field.

NEW BOARD MEMBERS NEEDED!!

 Hello everyone

 I hope everyone has been enjoying their summer so far and hopefully will enjoy it for a few more weeks. Our summer season has come to an end and I hope that all who participated in the season had a good season.

 The main reason for this open letter is to remind everyone that I am still looking for 3 positions to be filled on our board, these positions are very important to the league being able to continue moving forward.

 I realize that for most of you since the end of the picnic, softball is one of the last things on your mind, well I am here to let you know that for this league to continue to grow and be competitive and allow our children a place to come and learn and play a great game we the EFGSL need your HELP!!

 I am still in need of filling three positions on the board with the new members beginning their role in September; these are the positions needing to be filled. Field Scheduler, Post Season/ Fall Ball Director and Fundraising / Sponsorship Director. These three positions are very vital to the league and I personally am asking each and every one of you to please take the time to think about possibly stepping up and helping the league continue moving forward.

 For those of you who maybe a little reluctant to step forward because you may think that you are not ready for this, please reach out to me personally, we as a board work with one another to help each other do different jobs to make the league work. I would really like to have parents of with younger children in the league that would be invested for what I would like to think is the long run and not short term. That being said we as a board will welcome anyone who is willing to come join us. Remember if we have no board we have no league, the term is only one year, if after one year you decide that this is not something that you are interested in doing then you can move on. But I would like to think that once you get involved you will hopefully stay with us for a little while.

 Thank you for taking the time to read these words and as always the board and I greatly appreciate all that everyone does to keep our league moving forward. Enjoy the rest of your summer and I hope to see you around.

  Best regards;

Michael W. DeCosta
